Tableau Developer

About the position: The Tableau Developer (Application System Analyst I) is responsible for creating computer system and data visualization solutions, such as Tableau dashboard reports, to improve business processes supported by the Tax Analytics Division. This will include working with business and technical staff to understand requirements and to develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions. Responsibilities include conducting unit tests and developing database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities listed below, along with the Minimum Education and Experience requirements, are REQUIRED to qualify for this position. • Extensive experience in developing, maintaining and managing Tableau driven dashboards and analytics and working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture. • Experience generating reports using Tableau that clearly communicates results of analysis to business users and management. • Ability to perform and document data analysis, data validation and data mapping/design. • A solid understanding of SQL, rational databases and normalization. • Competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.). • Ability to work with business and technical staff in cross-divisional groups to gather feedback, improve business processes and train users to create reports. • Thorough knowledge of requests, issues, and problem areas and ability to fully understand and address them. • Ability to exercise creative and critical thinking in evaluating situations and developing solutions. • Ability to use internal and external resources to independently develop solutions, considering customer's capabilities and limitations. • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills as well as strong decision making skills. • Ability to maintain a high level of technical skill or knowledge in the area of application development and system integration. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree and some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in business application consulting or development;
