We have decided to renegotiate the price of our house due to recent findings, changes in the local market, and financing issues. Our mortgage application valued the house significantly less than the offer that we had made, leaving us with a higher loan-to-value than anticipated. Further to this, we have since discovered that the loft room is uninhabitable, despite having been advertised and sold as liveable space, and our conveyancer has also identified a significant estate redevelopment that is likely to proceed in the very near future and is just a couple of streets away. On top of this, our solicitor has identified several unauthorised alterations to the property and garden that could leave us liable. We would like to find a fair compromise, but our desired outcome of the renegotiation is to lower the price as much as possible. We will attach relevant files upon request.
