Advise on the best setup for linux / Php on windows server v12

Hello! Please tell me, is your win server already hosting websites and has some control panel installed or is it just a simple server for some other purposes? Why do you have to keep win on it, is it a must, or could you maybe just change it to a linux installation and here you go ? Regards, Dragos
