updated - web site re-build

time to re-build and get our web site current. current site at [login to view URL] is inherited, and whilst it basically works, as you will see it's totally outdated in terms of structure, style and functionality. So - job is to: 1) re-build a new web site to provide all current information...plus 2) provide functionality for our customers to have password controlled access to site to upload limited (1 page) of data - either text / pdf/image etc.. promoting their product/s. I picture this as a standard type form allowing for some limited text, some small picture files, and then maybe an electronic brochure.. - but limited to 1 web page. your thoughts welcome...Master password control by us, so that even if customers don't use this functionality, I can put something there if i want on their behalf. 3) indexing / sorting somehow of this data and all customer data on our site. I want all customer data to be "searchable" by a range of categories. so - for example, category could be "accomodation" so every one of our customers who provides accomodation would then be found in this search. multi level search is what I assume - so again, for example, sort 1 "accomodation" sort 2 might be "city" etc.. so a catalogue/sort/index function is what we want for everyone to be able to access. Where in web site this search function resides is a question.. just home page? or on all pages ? not sure.,...your thoughts welcome. I think there are about 6 different "categories" that would apply...will confirm when we get to it. 4) need web site to also be linked with social media - not sure what best here, so some feedback welcome 5) rolling banner on front page with pictures that we can select...pictures from either a picture library or copied from our customer pages 6) ability to highlight "special deals" 7) ability to put messages out home page - maybe as part of banner - eg: " Leapfrog congratulates Company SS for winning this award " site needs to still needs to allow quick transfer between pages....! probably a lot of other sexy functionality that is pretty much standard today - but still want to keep it as simple as possible we do NOT need credit card processing automatically via site... yes, we might take ccard details, but do NOT need payment functionality via the site..we will do that at back office.. hosting to remain with current provider code used to be common/generic and with notes so can be updated by others if necessary other ideas welcome you MUST be able to communicate clearly and to explain your concepts/ideas to NON IT/WEB gurus.....
