HI, I have 3 years of experience in android application development. I have successfully developed and updated many apps during my career. After reading your project description I think that the problem is with the permissions as in Android Marshmallow 6.0 Google have changed the app permission flow now the app need to check and ask for permissions on run time from user to use some device features e.g. if your app reads or writes to external storage then first need to check and ask for user permission to use external storage.
