As you might know in US every transaction for crypto is taxable and prices for crypto/altcoins are ever changing which is exciting but whether it is rewards earned, sold any crypto for profit, deduct exchnge fees/procurement expenses etc, moved from one exchange to another, moved from one crypto coin to another ; any of it is taxable and then we have US Fed and State tax brackets which are different and we have ever changing guidelines on reporting crypto taxes this is a shot to solve that problem simply and also ensuring that the customer gets the tax advantages following most guidelines and optimizing at its best and is able to play around with it in spreadsheet format. also need to think of it as for both indiviual/married filing jointly etc as well as person with small company like LLC, Corp etc, wee tax brackets below [login to view URL] You may need to pay federal or state taxes if you have: Sold crypto for a gain/loss Converted one crypto to another Earned $600 or more from USD Coin rewards, Tezos staking, and Coinbase Earn etc. i am trying to come up with excel model to solve this with FIFO rule, have tax bracket options , consideration of taxes and give collated view by the month and year to help filing for crypto taxes, first step is to start with one exchange per tab and merge collated later. a good example of something similar is age old khracha pani execl (attached) which is meant for expense tracking but similar approach) i am also attaching a crypto exchange output in csv/excel format similar to which would be base input for transaction through month/year etc and needs to be augmented with more columns , view by month, common view across multiple exchanges, filters for simplification etc , tabular flows, app view etc e.g. import/export csv's and update in app or directly upload from a site etc. i am expecting responses with good solid ideas and experience in this field based on above input to hone it as a product excel or app or SAAS or in app to integrate into existing tax solution and want to work closely with individual and can potentially partner as well.....so all standard answers will be ignored...looking only for thoughtful answers in detail to hash out next steps.....thanks for reading long post but it could be exciting and worthwhile.
