The goal of this project is to edit the provided photos in small batch jobs. These are photos of clients, before and after aesthetic surgeries. We wish to make these photos consistent in model size and image size through minor photoshop sizing and cropping. We will provide specific step by step instruction of what needs to be done and expected outputs. 1. Start with the largest, highest quality, original copies of the patient’s before/after images that you have available. 2. Rotate, scale, and crop the images so that (1) the patient is positioned and scaled (sized) the same in the matching before and after photos, and (b) the matching before and after photos have the exact same dimensions (measured in pixels). See the attached PDF that illustrates Do’s and Don’ts. 3. Resize the resulting images to 1200px wide. (Resolution should be 72 pixels per inch.) This holds true for both portrait- and landscape-oriented photos. This size is large enough for all foreseeable uses in the Before & After Photo Gallery. 4. Save the image file as a JPEG with a compression setting of roughly 30% –– aka Quality 8/12, aka Quality 70/100. The important thing is to make sure the compression process does not introduce grainy, low-resolution blotches to the image. The finished images will usually be less than 500KB. The tricky step is #2, and lots of people struggle with it. Pro Tip: open all the images for a single case in Photoshop, and copy/paste them as layers into a single new file. Use 50% Opacity on each layer to position and scale it to match the others, then crop the entire file in a way that gives all layers good presentation while keeping dimensions identical. Then resize the entire file, and save each layer as a unique JPEG file.
