after effects template

There is an effect in After Effects called Word Processor. It adds letters in a word as if you were typing it. I need the following in After Effects to improve on this: I want to just type what I want...say a sentence or two and the background automatically draws behind it to give a label like look. If there is a page break (new line) the background should break as well. The text should always be centered in the background but when I align different text elements the background should align as well. For instance, say I have two text elements on the stage and I right align the text...the text should be right aligned as well as the background. Since I am using the background with the Word Processor effect the letters come in letter by letter usually or whatever the Word Processor decides to do. The background needs to come in just like the text does but have a little padding (same time as Word Processor). I want to be able to have some global dials that I can change the opacity of the background, color, how much padding to the left and right of the text it should extend and how much padding on the top and bottom of the text. What I need is an new effect that I can just put on a text and it automatically puts on Word Processor and the background element.
