I need an adjustable dc-dc converter (non isolated) with fast reponse time. The output voltage should be adjustable via an analogue input voltage or digital interface (no trimmer) Preliminary specs: Input voltage 24 V, output voltage 24-50V, averge current 5A but high peak current. Please only bid if you have experience with SMPS and a background in control theory. Include some details on similar designs you have done and how you would solve this project. Payment on hourly rate would also be possible.

Hi, I am an experienced engineer that has designed many converter circuits for various applications. This includes inverters, frequency converters and dc-dc converters. Some of the DC-DC converters have been to regulate power supplies, motor controllers, etc. The system control can be done by either analog voltage or digital control. The analog control is simpler in that the system will not require a processor. I will provide you with the circuit diagrams; including all components w/parameters, an operational summary of the circuit and estimated performance ratings. In addition to this, we can do an optional circuit simulation analyses (suggested) using Matlab, Pspice, Electronic Workbench, etc. (Fee for optional analyses is $330.00, not included in bid). Thanks for the details and it seems the actual design requirements were all hidden from perspectives. However, this design can be done, but not easily. So I am changing my bid and if you are comfortable to proceed with this budget then we can discuss over things again. This is not a 5A design, but its actually have to be 50A output capable design. I found some discrepancies in your requirement as you said your input average current is 5A where as output average current is also 5A. This is absolutely not possible because you can not generate power from nothing. Forget about my last proposal of using PIC16F1783. That wont be suitable at all for this kind of design and it will need better topology than a normal one. I can assure only up to 50A at 50V max rating, that is 2.5KW peak power with max 10% duty cycle at 500W. So its up to you now if budget and these highest power rating suit your purpose then we can move ahead to discuss further. Thanks

hi, I have experience in SMPS. I have recently designed a Fly-back converter with very wide input voltage range (120 to 800 DC). To Achieve fast response feed back loop frequency (crossover)is adjusted. To achieve digital control digital pot can be use. PWM technique is also a solution (pwm signal from micro controller is filtered and feed to buck/boost switcher). Regards

Fast response time means fast switch frequency, and when you need the output is equal or great than he input , the chip should have the function of step down and boost. The inductor and the switch MOSFET both need carefully chosen, also the feedback control is a hard problem to deal with. Actually I had design a step down power with the max 12A output current but lower voltage. In your condition, I will recommend linear's chip, if you want to talk more details, please send me message.

I'm a recent graduate engineer in Electrotechnic & Power Electronicsand I've started a 3 years PhD /R&D program at the GENERAL ELECTRIC company, exactly at its energy affilate: POWER CONVERSION. I'm good at Maths, Physics and especially at Electrical Engineering. Also, I have a good knowledge about the Engineering tools, Softwares such as MATLAB/SIMULINK, PLECS, SABER, and of course the Microsoft office familly. I've done many DC-DC and AC-DC-AC projects with Simulink. I recently designed an isolated Flyback DC/DC converter. Also, I've designed a 5 level Variable Speed converter at General Electric for my final year internship last year: (Rectifier(Diodes) -DC LINK - Inverter (IGBTs)) with simulink and also its control strategy which is based on PWM strategies (Pulse width modulation) such as Sinus(natural), THI (third harmonic injection) to reduce the zero sequence content and also the GDPWM (General discontinious PWM). I had the chance to not only simulate this project on SIMULINK but also to it being manufactured and tested at General Electric Facilities in France. I think that I'm your man for this job. You require a non-isolated step-up converter with precise load voltage control. I could build one with a closed loop analog controller (PI), along with the design of PI loop and resistance/capacitance values. You can control it by changing the voltage reference or DAC as reference using a digital signal.

Hi Sir, my team and me are expert in Switched mode power supplies. As usual we use micro controller in order to handle the control laws but we are able to manage them with analogue circuits too. Could you provide me any more specifications? Max response time, possible loads, range of analogue input voltage and minimum step required. There is any EMC requirements? Operating Temperature range?
