Python-Based DevOps Engineer with Automation and Cloud Computing Experience Needed

Snagajob is seeking a motivated engineer to be a member of our DevOps team. We are an active player in the AWS cloud and are constantly evolving our infrastructure, security, and software delivery pipelines. We strive for a highly available, robust, and scalable infrastructure to support our products. You will be a part of a highly productive team providing infrastructure, automation, and issue resolution for cloud services. You will work closely with the Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Site Reliability teams, and will have the opportunity to contribute to Snagajob’s architecture, infrastructure and services. What You’ll Get to Do: - Implement and manage CICD pipeline code and methodologies within AWS - Design and maintain tools to automate operational processes - Work with internal customers including product team developers, architects, product owners, data scientists, and site reliability engineers to understand their platform needs and build software tools to enable developer productivity - Ensure information security best practices and policies are implemented and followed - Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation; respond to alerts in a timely fashion and escalate issues as needed - Suggest and lead improvement opportunities for platform and deployment processes and technologies - Learn new technologies and skills for delivering quality software to our customers What You'll Bring: - Strong experience with Python object-oriented programming (AWS Lambda, Boto3 REST APIs, etc.) and Bash scripting - Strong hands-on experience with the AWS Cloud environment, including operations automation tools, scripting, network constructs, and security best practices - Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Cloudformation, etc.) - Hands-on experience with CircleCI, Codebuild, or comparable CI/CD toolset. - The ability to prioritize and execute high-value, high-impact projects - Strong experience administering Linux and Windows servers as well as docker based infrastructure (like Kubernetes and ECS) in a highly available environment What Snagajob Will Promise You: You’ll be working on high-volume, high-traffic sites that receive over 50 million visits a month.
