We are looking to rework a current Microsoft Office Application (2003 version) or to create a new application if that is more feasible. We already have a program that does what we need but in a somewhat laborious fashion. We want the same functionality but with some added features. The programmer can update out current programs or develop a new one, whichever is easier. We need the program to make 4 different kinds of data tables from data in an Excel spreadsheet exported into Microsoft Word. The four types of tables are 1) based on tagged multiple choice questions, 2) based on tagged Yes/No questions, 3) open ended with a number in response to how much? How many? Type questions and 4) one that divides one column into another and comes up with a mean, median, range of values and and index number. The program calculates data from four types of columns. One is what we call an "open ended" numerical column. This is a column in which the answer is any number that is an answer to a question such as: how many? How much? So the range of numbers might be 53, 155, 215,000, 0, 543, etc etc - literally any number. The program calculates the mean, median, minimum and maximum values for these numbers in a column and presents the results in a table in Microsoft Word, such as the tables below.
