This task is very interesting, but there is some information missing: - it will be useful if you have "the shellcode we developed in class" - not that I cannot develop my own, but it might raise some suspicion - can you provide the virtual machine ? If you cannot, then please can you gather info about : a) is it 32-bit or 64-bit linux b) what linux distribution and exact version is it
