Edit a book report

I registered with Freelancer in February this year and have 34 reviews, all positive. English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing and proofreading. I have ongoing freelance work editing papers for an online journal for translators and interpreters. Another of my regular jobs is to transcribe the audio recordings of an organization's meetings and then create monthly minutes. I recently edited a 65,000-word science fiction novel and the client was so pleased with my work that he commended me to Freelancer. Other recent work has included proofreading five theses, as well as individual chapters of academic writing. For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers. I have worked with individual clients to bring 12 books to publication and three of these clients have rehired me to work on a second book. One of these projects involved rewriting a 24,500-word book to change it from a children's book to one suitable to be read by adults, and the result was described by the client as "perfect". Having been a teacher of English in high school for several years, I have spent many hours making corrections and suggestions for students' essays. For an additional two years I was a teacher of English as a second language.
