**Increase Seasoned Cooking’s Traffic** For nearly 8 years, Seasoned Cooking (<[login to view URL]>) has been the premier online magazine for people interested in cooking and other lifestyle topics. We have been earning revenue for most of that time, but it’s been nearly a zero budget and has not earned much as a result, as the focus has been on growing readership and ensuring quality. Now we want to grow our readership even further in order to increase revenue. The nature of the web is changing rapidly now. We need someone to help us navigate and take better advantage of these changing trends. We propose to set up a short-term project to pay a major percentage of all advertising revenue earned during the contract period to a single person or organization in return for increasing traffic by at least 10% over its pre-contract amount. Nearly all of our revenue is from advertising, which grows linearly with growth in traffic, so the more traffic you deliver, the greater the reward. We have many years of experience in the field and would be glad to share this experience in order to help the candidate. One key insight from recent market research is that most of our new traffic (from non-subscribers) is coming from the big search engines (e.g., Google and Yahoo!) and smaller blogs and message boards. Enhancing our placement in search engines will likely mean getting more links to us from other sites. Increasing our traffic otherwise will probably mean getting to know the blogs and message boards better and interacting with them and their owners in an effort to increase positive “buzz?? about SC. ...
