I have a string that represents a products name, but string is longer than needed, string_i_receive = SHK AMIN 800 12X0.5 KG 17 16 3203 7000459/2017-12-18/MANZANILLO **this is a line break description_purchase = SHK AMIN 800 12X0.5 KG how i make this search method to match the above values? product_exist = [login to view URL]['[login to view URL]'].search([('description_purchase','=like',cfdi_line_description + '%')], limit=1) ** i cannot count since the strings i receive are variable in size

Hello, you requierement is easy. All you need to do is search by product name or code. That string you recive is a concatenation of name + code, is a result of name_get method. Only check or split the string.
