pretty simple task, ive built several similar projects using the rc522 as a trigger for relays using the pi, and for your project, the program needs to read the tag check the db for the tag, log it in a table and along with this you also need a motion triggered camera recording which i can intergrate along with the rfid program, feel free to check my profile for past projects and reviews and text me back for more information

Hello, iam a devops engineer also experienced with raspberrypi based projects and python. I would suggest to use python and Django for the user portal, where you can audit the access logs and review the images made of users accessing the door. The frontend should not run on the pi, but the unlocker and potentially the motion detection software for the picam. If you want to elaborate further, give me a try. best regards, vladimir
