Well, every problem is different. The way I start my projects is usually figuring out why it needs to exist and who am I affecting with my product, but this is given that there is already a concept. If there is no concept I usually start with brainstorming and retrospecting on the context and narrow down on a few target audiences and figure out problems they have that can be soled or things they could have to make their life easier/better. That's how I start my projects. In order to consult with you a lot of communication to know why's and what's would happen. This will break a few hearts but it's for the best.

I have a process to follow. Generally my processes start with design thinking. I start off any project with empathy and defining the business problem then from the research data I proceed and prioritize user pain points. With the help of 2x metrics I start ideating and then analysing the user tasks and wireframing my ideas on paper. then I go on with usability tests on a focus group of users. I, then create prototypes and test them and iterate until the optimum solution is found. I then create interactive prototype which is also a high-fi prototype.
