The is the exact kind of Wordpress security work I do for clients on an almost daily basis. The best thing to do in this case is to use a plugin to change the name of your log in page. I use the All-in-One Security and Firewall plugin on almost all of my client sites. It alters the htaccess file to prevent bots from actually getting to the site.
