You are describing a common scenario when working with APIs in general, however, you did not mention to which API a C# .NET 4.x project connect. A 3rd party library would be used to handle the oauth authentication. The application would require write access to the windows host, writing to the default temporary directory. A simple installation script could become part of the project. It is not necessary to get a lot of documentation, but the endpoints and authentication mechanism must be available to review, either as source code or as documentation.
