My project includes experimental work in which i have to heat up a receiver unit of a parabolic dish at a high temperature in the range of 160-200 deg. C. The part is used to heat oil as it flows in the open to environment due to gravity (as fins of receiver are at an angle as shown in the attached file), oil flows on surface of top most fin goes through the hole at the end of the fins and process repeats for all the four fins and outlet hole is given in the bottom most fin to receive heated oil, assumptions are:
-laminar flow
-constant temperature throughout the receiver.
-soybean oil: density=920.3 kg/m3, specific heat= 1.974 KJ/kgK, thermal conductivity of oil (k)= 0.154 W/mK
dynamic viscosity= 0.0405 Pasec., water content in oil = 7% of oil mass.
-oil film thick is assumed to be = 2mm
-volumetric oil flow rate is very low= 10mL/sec.
