Renovation Project (Library)

The final year project involves developing a comprehensive design proposal for a new tall office building within The Carpenter Estate in the London Borough of Newham. In partnership with BSc Architectural Technology workers from Middlesex University London, workers will span Term 1 and Term 2 on the project.

In Term 1, workers develop a concept and outline design proposal (RIBA Stage 2) for the office building on the allocated site. The building should include a ground-floor cafe/restaurant and meeting rooms, with optional communal spaces such as a top-floor restaurant/bar.
Workers conduct site surveys, climate and site analysis, and capacity studies to understand how the design can meet the client/council vision and comply with UK building regulations.
