New local community website that will display all kinds of content about a village
Must contain the following sections
1) Business Directory
This section of the site must contain a way for local businesses to register an account with the website and edit a page that will give them options to display all kinds of information about themselves including business information, images of their shops, events (which also must be added to a global events diary on the main page)and contact information. This is a user driven section of the site and so must all be automated.
2) Local Clubs and Society Pages
Same as the "Business Directory" section detailed above but aimed at societies instead. Again this is all user driven content and so must be fully automated.
3) History of the village section
The main page in this section will be a Map of the village where a viewer can roll their mouse over various sites of historic interest to display a small amount of detail about the place of interest. They can then click this highlighted section to take them to a page which gives more detail about that place. Admin must be able to add new places of interest to this map and link them in to the details pages. The details pages must contain a system whereby an admin can add and edit pages in this section using a WYSIWYG editor.
4) Main page
This front page of the site will contain a automated events diary (which new users can add to provided they have an account with the site) which combines feeds from the "Business Directory" and "Clubs and Societies" pages of the website and displays them in a calender system. Events for the forthcoming week must be displayed on the main page as well as letting the user have the ability to change those events that are displayed into different weeks, and also filter by category (business/clubs and societies/user added events)
The main page must have a section which explains details of the site
There must be a section of the site which displays an automated advertising system whereby account holders can add banners to the main page advertising their businesses when they pay for the advertisement using a shopping cart system. They should be able to upload their banners to the website before they pay for the advertising space.
5) House Sales Page
Registered users of the site can add details of their house sales to the website. House for sale will then be displayed on a goggle map.
6) Contact Details page.
I don't need any fancy graphics for the site. Just a simple logo in the header of the site will suffice. with a simple professional looking colour scheme.
*****The site shouldn't be too complicated to design as there are lots of templates out there which do the various things detailed in this project plan. The key will be making the site look consistent. *****
