I have a customer looking at ditching their current PSTN system in favour of a VoIP system .. they have a dispatch business model however, it doesn’t fit into normal office PBX systems. Given a basic outline of their business model, I want to recommend a product from the range of open source PBX systems and an estimated number of hours to bring them up to a workable solution.

1. 0800 Numbers all play a recorded message and then terminate at a dispatcher.

2. The dispatcher processes payments and then connects to the agent, recording a whisper message that is played to the agent

3. The Dispatcher transfers to the named agent (using an address book?)

4. The dispatcher has a Busy lamp for all agents to see who is available/busy and who can process calls.

5. The calls will transfer to extensions (which are either DDI numbers, or logical SIP extensions)

6. Sometimes the call will need to transfer to a conference (2 or more extensions) but this is rare

7. CDR records will be used for billing purposes.

I plan to use Vitality or Anveo etc.. as a telephony service to provide the 0800 trunking.

Output would be:

1 x Written recommendation of product

1 x Written explanation of what additional modules would be required

1 x Rough plan of how many hours to be required of external development

1 x Issues with the proposed solution

Think of this as a 'Request for Interest' in this development, the customers capital funds are limited.
