We are seeking a Handmade Products Sourcing Specialist who will be responsible for finding and sourcing handmade products from artisans and weavers across the country. The successful candidate should have a keen eye for curation of art, handicraft and traditional products, with an understanding of or interest in local history, culture, and traditions to understand the value of the products. The Handmade Products Sourcing Specialist must be able to negotiate pricing, exchange policies and other relevant terms to ensure smooth sourcing of quality products.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain relationships with artisans, weavers, and other sources of handmade products across the country
* Continuously source and curate unique, high-quality handmade products that align with the company's brand values and aesthetic
* Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, exchange policies and other relevant terms with artisans and weavers
* Maintain accurate records of product orders, delivery dates, pricing, and other relevant information
* Monitor and maintain product quality, ensuring that products meet the company's standards and customer expectations
* Collaborate with other team members to ensure that products are properly promoted and marketed to target customers
* Keep up to date with trends and developments in the handmade products industry and share knowledge with team members
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge and understanding of handmade products, including art, handicraft, and traditional products
* Proven experience in sourcing and curating handmade products from artisans and weavers
* Knowledge and understanding of local history, culture, and traditions to appreciate and evaluate the value of the products
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with artisans and weavers
* Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple orders and deliveries
* Attention to detail to ensure accurate records are kept and products meet quality standards
* Passionate about handmade products and willing to share knowledge with team members
* Willing to travel extensively to source and meet with artisans and weavers
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, design, fashion technology or a related field is preferred
* At least 2-3 years of experience in sourcing and curating handmade products from artisans and weavers
* Demonstrated success in negotiating pricing, delivery timelines, exchange policies and other relevant terms with artisans and weavers
* Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and marketing would be an added advantage.
