Job Description: Senior ETL QA
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior ETL QA (Extract, Transform, Load Quality Assurance) professional to join our team. As a Senior ETL QA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our data integration processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute comprehensive testing strategies, identify and resolve defects, and optimize ETL workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data validation, ETL testing methodologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for ETL processes, ensuring end-to-end data quality and accuracy.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and data engineers, to understand data requirements and translate them into test cases.
3. Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing of ETL workflows and data pipelines to identify defects, data inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks.
4. Design, create, and maintain test data sets and environments that accurately simulate real-world scenarios, ensuring thorough test coverage.
5. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
6. Analyze and document test results, defects, and issues, providing clear and concise reports to stakeholders and collaborating with the development team to address them.
7. Collaborate with data engineers to optimize ETL workflows and data transformation processes, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and data integrity.
8. Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends related to ETL testing and data quality assurance.
9. Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the QA team, sharing knowledge and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
10. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
11. Proven experience as an ETL QA professional, with a focus on data validation, testing, and quality assurance in complex data integration environments.
12. Strong understanding of ETL concepts, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and experience in testing ETL workflows and data pipelines.
13. Solid knowledge of SQL and proficiency in writing complex queries for data validation and verification.
14. Hands-on experience with ETL testing tools, frameworks, and automation (e.g., Selenium, Apache Nifi, JUnit).
15. Familiarity with database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and data warehousing concepts.
16. Experience in troubleshooting data-related issues, identifying root causes, and proposing effective solutions.
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to think critically.
18. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
19. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
20. Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
