This project has 2 parts:

1. VALIDATION OF GST/HST REGISTRY NUMBER

2. VALIDATION OF A QST REGISTRATION NUMBER

VALIDATION OF GST/HST REGISTRY NUMBER:

I need a software which will take the Excel file as input with a list of code numbers, names and dates. The software will output the same file with an additional 4th column which would be populated based on the website search result.

Here, you will take the input file and search one row at a time and populate the 4th column based on the search result. The options I have seen are:

• RESULT: GST/HST number registered on this transaction date.

• RESULT: Insufficient information entered.

Note: In control panel, under Region, my Short date format is: M/dd/yy - you must set the same.

VALIDATION OF A QST REGISTRATION NUMBER:

It’s similar to GST/HST Registry but different list and website. This second software will take an Excel file as Input with a list of code numbers and names. The software will output the same file with 5 additional columns which would be populated based on the website search result.

(in the example link, the 1219432212TQ0001 number at the end is what you will get from the Excel file)

Here, you will input file and search one row at a time and populate result columns.

Column 3 (Heading FOUND): FOUND / NOT FOUND (whether it’s found or not)

Column 4 (Heading STATUS): VALID, INACTIVE OR NON-EXISTANT (based on the search result)

Column 5 (EFFECTIVE DATE) : Effective date of status (based on the search result)

Column 6 (Business Name): Business name (based on the search result) - This is labelled "Business's name" on the website

Column 7 (Firm Name): Firm name (This is labelled "Business name" on the website)

For example, number "1219432212" has "8241899 CANADA INC" as business name and "PRECIVAL" as Firm Name.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS AND DELIVERY:

• I need a standalone software that runs on it's own

• I need both the code and the application with documentation.

• While the program is running, I want the status displayed. For example, which row is currently being processed out of how many rows.

• You can create a separate program for QST or incorporate both in the same program. Whatever is easier for you.

• Any configuration that may need changed in future, I should be able to do that in the program.

• I want this program to work with both .xls and .xlsx
