This project is about creating a PHP script that will interact with a MySQL database. We use multiple pricing levels and need to be able to run the script periodically to assure that prices get adjusted and recalculated as needed, and to make sure that there are records for all five price levels. I have provided a mysqldump of the current table data for the table to be modified by the script. Another table needs to be joined to the first in order to obtain wholesale cost prices, but no modification to the second table is needed. The most relevant fields for comparisons include:
llx_product_price (to be modified by script)
• fk_product (KEY)
• date_price
• price_level
• price
• price_min
llx_product (used only to access wholesale cost prices)
• rowid (KEY)
• price
• price_min
• cost_price
The script's workflow needs to start with verifying the integrity of all Level 1 records:
For each llx_product_price.fk_product
where llx_product_price.price_level = “1”
and llx_product_price.date_price is most recent:
1. Is llx_product.cost_price > 0?
1. If yes, continue.
2. If no, log to text file and skip record.
2. Does llx_product.price_min equal ( llx_product.cost_price * 1.1 )?
1. If yes, continue.
2. If not set llx_product.llx_price_min to ( llx_product.cost_price * 1.1 ), then continue.
3. Does llx_product_price.price_min equal llx_product.price_min?
1. If yes, continue.
2. If not, update value in llx_product_price.price_min to equal llx_product.price_min.
Then, update or insert records as needed for price levels 2, 3, 4, and 5 in accordance with the pricing rules in the spreadsheet posted with this project. Also in the spreadsheet is a description of values for inserting new price level records.
It is important to note that this data table keeps all price level record entries permanently (to allow for accessing pricing history), so be sure to only use the most recent Level 1 record for each llx_product_price.fk_product value.
