We need the login script to allow EITHER a username or Email address which is the Magento standard. The reason this is required is that we are migrating our customers accounts and products from another E-Commerce application.
The username data will be populated by ourselves in another column in the mysql database.
We also have a problem with the email addresses on the current db, there are a large number missing and the same email address is entered. We have worked out a solution to make unique mail addresses by adding an incremental number. This gets the data entered, however we need another script where the email is queried and if found to be equal to no[number]@[url removed, login to view] then there should be a prompt asking for a valid email address. This will mean the db will be gradually cleaned when the customers shop.
