SEO Optimization and page design

I have two web pages. They are both part of a search engine. The first page is static and allows one to insert a search term or click on a category for results based on that category. The second is a results page. I need two things done: 1. I am not too keen on the design - I want suggestions on how to clean it up and make it look more professional. 2. I'd like tips on search engine optimization. This will include basic tips as well as general suggestions about improving content. Therefore, I need someone to look at these two pages, and mock up an example that is optimized for search engines AND is designed better and more modern. This should be a quick an easy request for someone who has experience in site design and basic SEO techniques. The resulting page should be complaint with WC3 standards.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

Should render correctly in all current webbrowsers plus one generation back (IE 5.0+, for example).
