vectorize a .jpg for an endless textile pattern for use in background

I have a .jpg of a scottish tartan. I need it vectorized exactly so i can use it as a background.
there are websites where I can make vector pattern of a scottish tartan, but only symmetrical, i need a non symmetrical pattern exactly as in the .jpg provided
I do not need the .jpg cleaned-up I need it recreated in a vector format so I can repeat it endlessly (endless repeat like "tile" in gimp.

making a symmetrical tartan is easy . Vectorizing a .jpeg is easy . the challenge is to mack the .jpg look like it was made in plaidmaker. its just for fun so i don't need a professional etc
