Front End Web Based - This will comprise of a web based page that allows transport managers to view all vehicles (routes) departed by registration numbers. The purpose of the page is to allow the managers to view "live" statuses of each van. How many deliveries it starts with in a line graph, how many deliveries remaining, how many deliveries cancelled, how many deliveries were customer not home and so on. The manager will then have the functionality to be able to deep dive into the data, clicking on each van details will bring the user to a new page showing a more detailed version of the data for that van alone. The data will show graphs and information relating to the different statuses (not at home, delivered, no access and so on). Clicking on no access for example will then bring up the "raw data" showing Sales Order number, address, time it was scanned as "no access" and so on.
Basically it's a start to finish solution for an Transport Operations Dash Board to be used by Operations and Sales teams to gauge live status on deliveries out on road. It needs to be engaging, visually pleasing, easy to read and able to "deep dive" into the data to use and export.
The data will come mainly from Microsoft Navision.
The other side to this is a "drivers app" which will feed into this system.
The driver's app will allow the drivers to see all their deliveries for the day in delivery order and the ability to click on each delivery (SO number or Sales Order Number). Clicking on a delivery will bring up further options showing details of the delivery and customer contact details.
The aim of the app is to allow the driver to complete the job on his phone, press "delivered" or "Not at Home" or other options, ask the customer to sign on the phone his / her name and that information then updates the backend system mentioned above. It will also have the capability to send an email notification to nominated email addresses so Operations Managers can have copies of the Proof Of Delivery (signatures).
This is not an easy project, it will require someone with "outside the box" thinking, who has Navision experience and some transport / logistics know how.
You are designing an end to end solution for a transport company to extract orders from Navision, export them by routes into this system and then automatically update this system by driver apps completing jobs.
