We are creating an Action RPG, currently unnamed. We'd like cover art that we can use to advertise the game. Instead of describing what we want in the artwork, we'd prefer to describe the game and the story to you and see what you come up with!

The story takes place on two different planets in a fantasy realm. The hero's home planet is invaded by intruders taking advantage of a trans-dimensional rift. It is up to him to reach his full potential, battle back the incoming hordes, enter the invader's planet and take out their entire power structure to ensure they don't do it again.

The hero's power comes from four elements: Air, Earth, Wind, and Fire. He gains the use of each element via a rune that focuses that element's power. He starts off with no runes, and spends the first part of the game questing in order to acquire all the runes. Once he has all the runes he must overcome one final hurdle to to fuse the power of the runes and become Transcendent.

The gameplay itself will be a Diablo-style Action RPG involving lots of fast-paced action, visual effects, and damage numbers.

We will award the prize to the best work that blows us away and conveys the above on first impression to someone who has never heard about the game before. We'd really like the final product to emphasize the magical and fantastical nature of the setting. It should be enchanting.

Hello! I've a question, that goes back to one other question asked previously by another fellow here.

Basically, what you want is a rough draft, and not a finished painting...am I correct? I'm currently at the "inking phase" of my work and trust me, it's a line-work of epic proportions. To fully render it in color, I would need an extra day, but sadly, with the deadline I would only be able to submit a black and white piece.

i must say that i'm not so great in ilustrations, but if i can turn out with a great idea it can be done much better by someone with greater pencil attitude :D

  We envisioned the hero to be a mysterious young man, slick and agile. The one thing we ask is not to have a bulky warlord. He should appear thoughtful and introspective, yet also clearly deadly and bad-ass. In the game he will have different weapons and armor, all "medieval" themed.

Hi! I do have several questions before I'll proceed with sketching.....so here goes

Is it like an actual cover art (with logo, game title and so on) or just the illustration itself? Can I draw it in landscape format, sort of like League of Legends artwork? Also, can I include supporting characters? Lastly, can I render my artwork in watercolors and other traditional mediums? I'm okay with digital painting, but I have a solid grasp, and also a personal art style, in watercolor.

Sorry to bug you with all these questions, but it'll help me loads if these get answered. Thanks!

Color-wise, generally Earth would be Green/Brown, Fire would be Red/Orange, Water would be Blue/White, and Air would be White/Gray. The rune really just represents the elemental power.
