Windows GUI app for barcode printing

Objective: An app that will receive keyboard-like input from a barcode scanner (MAC addresses), check an HTTP API for pass/fail status associated with that value, then invoke a provided python script with that text as the argument which will produce a PDF, then print the PDF. Printing by either Windows printing system directly OR by invoking a provided [login to view URL], which internally calls [login to view URL] with arguments. UI: - One single text box, very large font size for visibility (30pts) - scaled to fit 12 characters - Input must always be focused to text box whenever the app is selected - Title bar: "AWAIR Rev2 Sleeve Sticker Printer v0.1" Actions: - App will receive 12-character input (MAC address) from a barcode scanner, with a newline at the end. The scanner acts like a keyboard device. Example input: 70886B10517E - Upon newline, app will check API: [login to view URL] - Parse API returned JSON - JSON data key "data" will always be an array, but may have multiple members. - Read ONLY the HEAD of the array for result. - If "passed" : - Hold text in text box for the duration of these actions - Call python script specified by INI file, with the MAC address as the only argument - Python script generates a PDF with the same name as the input + ".pdf", e.g. "[login to view URL]" - Print PDF - Clear text box - Delete generated PDF (non-recycling-bin delete is preferred) - If "failed" : - Text in text box to red - Pause for 2 seconds - Clear text box Example INI file: [SERVER] server=[login to view URL] port=8080 [PYTHON] script=[login to view URL] [PRINTING] action=[login to view URL] Stretch goals: - Selectable printing system, either Windows Printing to the default printer OR [login to view URL], by INI option. ex: action=print_direct OR action=[login to view URL]
