Web Design using osCommerce

Hello: We are a startup company with a limited budget, intending to launch our website to market and sell organic products. We are in the process of accepting quotes for the development of our Web/E-Commerce site. To give you an idea, our proposed site will offer online ordering and transaction processing capabilities. With your quote please mention whether your design will look like example 1 or 2 above. This is very important. You are encouraged to give separate quotes for designs based on 2 examples above, as it may help us decide whether we want to go one way or the other. We have already decided on web hosting, so that is not in the scope. The ISP offers mySQL database, osCommerce shopping cart, PERL, PHP and other tools. Operating system is Linux. We are planning to use osCommerce shopping cart. We will need to have the capability of updating/uploading new product images as needed. Initially we will start with limited products, but the design should be scalable to add more products at a later date. Expected skills: Photoshop Dreamweaver osCommerce PHP, Perl CGI Job Type: Graphic Design Logo Design Website Design Website Promotion The features may be implemented in various phases. In phase 1, we would like to have logo design, letterhead, business card design and web template design. Please see the sample files attached. Expected timeframe will be 2 weeks. Phase 2 will be the actual website design with shopping cart. This will show Home page, About Us page, Contact information, Shipping Information page, Our Mission page, Privacy Policy page, FAQ page, Why organic page Shopping cart features are needed. Ability to accept credit card payment needed. (You may use existing gateway support of osCommerce) Initially only 15-20 products will be offered. eNewsletter ability is not needed at this time. Expected timeframe will be 1-2 months after phase 1. Phase 3 will include website promotion and ongoing marketing efforts. This will also include artwork design of marketing material like brochures, catalog, mailing letters, postcards etc. This phase is not part of this project and shall be discussed later as needed. But we wanted to share our long term view. We are looking for a "long term relationship" with the developer. We prefer to deal with same individual who has capability of graphic/logo design as well as web design. However, if you feel that your skills are limited in some area, please say so and we will work together to get the desired results. Preferably he/she should have above skills or willingness to learn them. We are open to ideas about how things can be improved, so proactive participation is encouraged. At this time, we are accepting cost estimates from different Web developers. Please give us details of your prior work (sample, links etc), cost estimate (detailed breakdown for different phases is encouraged), time estimate. Please submit your proposals as detailed as possible. As mentioned earlier, being a startup, we have limited budget, so please quote your best possible rate. At the same time, let us clarify that we may not select lowest quote just because it was $10 less than the next best quote. Quality of work is also important. If your estimated cost of development and sample Web sites look competitive, we will contact you accordingly. If you do not have willingness to learn, good communication skills; are not serious about this, please do not waste your and our time.
