I would like advice from someone who has experience working with plastic joists/lumber Replacing wood joists that are rotting with using plastic bearers/joists to support a balcony - need to know if plastic joists can support the load and span; don't want to use wood again as it rots Or any other options? Replacing existing 1800mm lengths of timber (150 x 50)with an equivalent size of plastic bearer (also 150 x 50) Current balcony is 6000mm long x 1800 wide. 1800mm lengths sit in a steel frame (see images). 3 x 45kg pieces of glass set in the decking (see images)
