P.S: CTE is to use With statement to shorten the code when calling multiple times, advanced join such as left join, right join, full outer join and aggregated function like MIN, MAX, COUNT, SUM must come with GROUP BY function.

Learning SQL has a ton of background theory of "Databases" in general. Relational Algebra, ER Models, Relational Calculus, Optimization, B-Tree indexing etc etc. . . Learning from a standard book simultaneously can help you. Database books are slightly different from MySQL books. The later cover on aspects related to MySQL, no general concepts behind the scenes.
