I've been parsing incoming XML documents for over 15 years, with a hand-written Java-based XML parser that literally parses every incoming character in the XML document. We download information about diamonds (known as a diamond certificate) and our certificate laboratory is returning me an XML document that my existing code cannot parse. I need you as the developer to turn the incoming XML document into a simple Java HashMap. The XML returned is one-level deep so the HashMap is a good simple mechanism to pull out the information for inserting into the database.
