KNOW_HOW Hi, I am working on image processing,video encoding/decoding and other related fields for 3+ years. There are several video comparison algorithms based on fingerprint/byte comparison etc and other concepts. Any one can be used for this task, let me know if u have any specific idea to implement. thanks

KNOW_HOW Hi, videos are usually come with audio track. I'm going to compare just audio spectrum to find the same videos. Even if the video quality will differ, audio spectrum will be roughly the same. The only question is what do you mean by duplicate videos? Should they be the same length? What about video parts, do you consider it different? What about video compilation that contains parts from several videos? Which one should be considered as an original video and which one as a duplicate? For this low budget I can only write a library for duplicate detection, I'm not going to create the whole program. NOTE: As a side effect you may also create audio duplicate detection program :)

This is a complex project that will require a large degree of experimentation to make a working product. However, there are a number of avenues that can be explored: * pattern of dark/light frames (perhaps after averaging over multiple frames to reduce to a standard slower frame rate in order to iron out discrepancies between versions of a video with alternative frame rates) * direction of colour gradients across frames * dominant colours Using some combination of these with an approximate match algorithm (e.g. string distance) should work.
