I am looking for a freelance video editor with story telling mind to edit 25 hrs of footage into a 1 hr video and a 5 mins preview in MP4 format. The footage ( converted from V8 to Mp4) was taken by two graduates ( Patrick and Tim(me) ) in between 12/1992 to 2/1993 during an around the world trip ( don’t think Cathay Pacific Airway Still offers this package this days) after graduation from uni. The young men departed from Sydney just before Christmas in 1992. The first destination was Hawaii, then we went to the west coast of the north America ( LA, SF, SAN Diago, Vancouver) then Chicago and East coast ( Toronto, Boston and NYC). After that they went to Uk, Begium, Holland, Germany, Denmark , Sweden, Spain, Italy, Monaco and France before heading back to HK in late 2/1993. Both Patrick and Tim are still good friends after this years, but they go on to different paths ( Patrick is a VC and Tim is an architect ) and just had their 50th birthday in April (18th & 20th) The tapes with 25hrs footage were lost in Patrick’s storage for 28years, the tapes were found just before Tim’s birthday and they were turned out to be the birthday gift of Tim. I hope the the 1 hr “movie” can capture the innocent minds of the two young men who were about to turn a new page, wondering about the future as like wondering about each new day in the trip. As the 25 hrs footage is in Cantonese, fluent understanding of Cantonese is required.

This kind of project require a philosophic screenwriting with sensitive audio samples and music that i can create and fluid editing and effects that we can talk about it more. Maybe it can be a sort of a documentary of creation that helps to travel in a past and goes into good memories. Peace.
