Software Engineer for simulation of surgical scene

Please don't waste your bids, if you are not expert in here. Cardiovascular disease is the #1 cause of mortality and morbidity in the world. Much of this could be prevented if there were better access to specialist vascular intervention. We're a team of experienced clinicians and experts in surgical robotics and machine learning developing the technology to bring state-of-the-art vascular intervention to anyone, anytime, regardless of their location. We're looking for a software engineer who can help build out a physics-based simulation tool for our surgical procedure. Ideally this simulation would run in real-time or nearly real-time. We're particularly interested in simulating tool deflections from an environment that can be rigid or compliant. There are a number of physics engines that might be able to solve this problem for us. I’ve leaned more towards the robot simulations that are designed for reinforcement learning because they tend to be faster (Mujoco, Nvidia Gym, Pybullet, Gazebo, etc.). Of this list, it seems that Mujoco does the best with lots of contacts, it’s faster than most of the others, and it’s open source (see papers below). The more realistic direction would be the finite element solutions ([SOFA]([login to view URL]) — although it seems that SOFA includes rigid contact and at least mentions a real time emphasis).
