Senior Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver high quality software that is thoroughly tested and optimised
• Build software solutions from requirements when we have them, or help architect solutions if we don't
• Provide maintenance and enhancements to the existing code base
• Support our test team to build automated testing and delivery
• Rapid learning and willingness to work with technologies and languages you are or are not familiar with
• Understanding of security policies and restrictions that apply to Tier One and creating solutions that comply with these rules
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Significant experience developing web applications using Java 8, with a focus on:
• Web/REST developement
• Test driven development (e.g. jUnit, etc)
• Dependency Injection (we are currently using Guice)
• JDBC/ORM tools (we are currently using Jooq)
• Serialization (e.g. Jackson)
• Security (e.g. Apache Shiro)
Familiar with Microservices architecture, REST
• Good English
Although the role will be primarily backend java focused, an awareness of the following will be highly regarded/beneficial:
• Knowledge Experience with Node.js (lots of integrating utilities)
• Frontend frameworks such as Angular, Aurelia, Vue.js (Vue preferred)
• Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS/SVG and associated build pipelines (Webpack or similar)
• Experience with the configuration and deployment of CI/CD environments
• Experience with Docker or other container platforms
• Experience with developing and maintaining relationships with the client, to ensure the project hits its deadlines
• Excellent written and Oral communication skills
• Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash
