I need to scrape currency exchange and stock data and populating that data into a database via php script of some other manner. (python etc) The historical and up-to-date data is easily available from the yahoo finance site. I need to populate the database with several thousand stocks and currencies as well as other datasets. I am looking for a simple and clean solution. I had this done previously using freelancer 3 years ago. On the previous project the developer provided me a php script which I ran and it populated the tables of the database with all of the historical data (10 years). DATA NEEDED NYSE New York Stock Exchange (all stocks - 2,400 companies) NASDAQ NASDAQ Stock Exchange (all stocks - 3,300 companies) NYMEX New York Merchantile Exchange (all commodities - approximately 60) USDXXX US Dollar Exchange rate (50 selected currencies exchange rates) Then he gave me script that I used as a cron that updated the tables every night. Therefore, the stock prices were always up to date. the total number of items to be pulled is approximately 6,000 datapoints daily. However, as mentioned above the first step is to provide the historical data for all of the stocks Again, this is not a difficult project for an experienced coder. I have included several sites below that have step-by-step instructions on how to extract the the data using python and populate an mysql database. However, I do not know python. It is important for me to have the ability to take php script and run the scripts myself to pull all of the historical data and also to place the crons on my server to run overnight (every night). A quick google search will provide several resources for pulling the stock and currency data. As you can see in my account, I paid $30 for the previous similar project. I am willing to pay $60 for this project. I have worked with FOREX and SP500 before. I scraped data from MT4 and then applied algorithms in order to make business decisions. However as far as I can understand, all you need is latest data for all your stocks at one place in form of a table. The problem here is that when you pull a huge amount of data at once, sometimes the API crashes, so that can be a problem. I also have a solution for that if it occurs. And yeah, if it's historical data fetching then if can easily be done. All I would need is the table with all your stock tickers and which timeframe of data you desire to get pulled for you. Rest we can discuss later if you would want me to work for you.
