Basically I need an SQL code written that will help close the day of our POINT OF SALE. The person will have to remote log in and back up and execute the program as I have no working knowledge. OR GIVE ME A PRETTY DETAILED DESCRIPTION HOW TO execute, Here is a cut and paste to the conversation that I had with the designer.
the program we use currently is [login to view URL]
PROGRAMMER:
You can mass cash your orders out using an SQL tool. There is no way from within the program to do this. If you do use an SQL tool, make sure that you backup your file first! SQL tools change everything that they're told to change without prompting, so if the command is slightly wrong, then the database could be permanently damaged.
SQL tools, there are many available "SQLite Database Tools" that are throughout the internet. You can even go to [login to view URL] and get their free command line tool, but be every careful, and you should have some SQL knowledge. Off the top of my head the SQL command to cash out any not cashed out orders would be as follows;
UPDATE orders_tbl SET cashout_machine='SQL', cashout_id=1, cash_tot=ord_total, paid_in_full=1 WHERE record_type=1 AND voided_order=0 AND paid_in_full=0;
This is one continuous line and must be entered in EXACTLY as shown and ending with the semi-colon. Again, backup the file before doing this or any other SQL editing on your database!
Hi,
If you could provide me an access then It will help to understand in a matter way. There is many ways to do this. Before running an Update query, it is essential to check whether is it right or not. What kind of data it is affecting.
I am a Microsoft Technologies Specialist and having an experience of 9 years in development.
Thanks,
