Now, as you said we will have access to support, it's the only best option. So yes, I agree with the approach because if the issue is within the core theme code, it's not possible to fix permanently without their help. And yes, I am happy to work with the support team to get this done perfectly and find the best possible solution. But note that if they are not able to find the fix etc., it is very much possible we wont be able to get the problem rectified completely. However I am open to doing my best and seeing how to get this fixed.
I can also take a manual backup of your website which you can store for future ease :)
I also noticed your website is NOT using HTTPS which isn't really a good thing in 2019, to be honest. As your passwords are sent in plain-text and anyone can easily see them sitting in your network or otherwise...
