About us - we are a leading distributor in New Zealand of substrates to print & packaging industries. Our current customer portal is around 6 years old and does a great job, but we want to refresh it and make it smarter. Ideally a new portal will do everything the current one does now (but better) with new functionality added to enhance the customer experience and ultimately increase visitor traffic and sales volume. The existing portal receives data feeds by way of either csv or xml files, and outputs xmls which are used to transact via EDI to our ERP system (MS AX 2009). The portal is also used for some APIs - more info can be provided. We have a second business that we would potentially like to use the same portal for but with a different skin. That business is on a different ERP system. The products also have different attributes so a solution that could accommodate both is sought. I am open to ideas on how we can make improvements which are based on proven previous implementations. Some of the improvements we are seeking include: • Payment method for cash sales (currently an account only portal) • Delivery charges for customers and/or minimum order values • Stock availability (traffic light indicators) • Stock substitution recommendations • Specials lists • Order tracking (driver GPS) • Electronic POD • Quoting system • Community market place • Analytics tools • Mobile & Tablet optimised A test version of the current portal can be found here: [login to view URL] Login: testuser Password: 0wfY1dgG We are looking to change developers as the current provider does not have capacity to undertake new work.

Hello, the test site you have shared is in asp.net Do you want to use the same backend or can we re-do everythign in php? Since i am a php programmer and play with opensource technologies only, i can do everythign that this system does and better it in a php framework like laravel. Microsoft technologies are costiler to make and maintain in the long run.. so if you are ok with php and opensource then we can discuss further. And here are couple of points that I wish to clarify:- 1) Are you using any API for stocks ? if yes, please let me know. 2) What payment gateway is been used? 3) What other third party system do you wish to integrate ? The current portal is quite good, I really like how it flows. There are a few user issues that I can see, mostly from a design standpoint that wasn't around when the portal was developed. A solution to cover 2 different systems could be problematic, depending on how different they really are. REskinning the system may not be a problem, but if there is functionality in one system that the other doesn't required, adding this to the unused system would just cause bloating an issues. An initial development line may be available, and then introducing custom class systems for single-use may be the best bet. One of the bigger issues will be driver GPS. You'll either need to use a custom app system that provides constant GPS updates (would be quite costly to develop), or use a currently active system (this may not work too well with your end solution).
