We have an existing marketing website with integrated applications. We will be moving to Craft CMS for the marketing website and the Yii/PostgreSQL framework for applications. I have an immediate need to add a new 71 question form(s) to collect and store the form data in the existing PostgreSQL application database. The questionnaire currently exists as large (22 pages) PDF form document with various text, select, radio, and checkbox inputs. I want to start the conversion to Craft with a simple Craft page that will deliver an HTML page or pages to collect the data to be inserted/updated in the existing PostgreSQL database. The module must allow for initial data input, editing, and update of data with validation, and an output PDF report in a form very similar to the existing PDF document. The questions should be maintained in a text file for easy editing and multiple language versions. The questions and the output report are to be multi-language but the developer will not be responsible for translations. The existing system is not Craft or Yii, but this new module will work alongside the existing application with the existing PostgreSQL database. The existing system and the new module will maintain independent sessions. The existing (non-Craft) system will pass a call to the new module with userid/login information. The new Craft module will interact with the user to obtain the data and place/replace the data in the existing PostgreSQL user data table. Other than the output report, the use of the data once collected will not be a part of this effort.

I feel at home with the database (PostgreSQL, whichever version), and PHP (whichever version). I've worked with Yii before but not with CraftCMS. I learn fast, I won't have any issues with you legacy system either. I'm a single developer and the project is biggish but I'll manage in about 2 weeks. Pick me and I'll deliver you an easy to maintain, cleanly structured solution. Plus easy communication and a free German translation! So I'm going to summarize a bit. A legacy application (which serves primarily as a marketing website), being replaced with more modern systems, while also introducing a proper separation of concerns. The new marketing platform (based on Craft CMS) introduces a new questionnaire module, which: * Will currently work in parallel to the existing PDF solution. * Will support CRUD functionality (create, read, update, you want to leave the delete out?). * Will render as HTML forms with validation rules (backend and frontend?) * Will be augmented with a report generator (I'd prefer to introduce a separate plugin, which you might later use for other report generations) * Will handle propagated credentials (probably single sign-on mechanism) * Unclear: Configuration of the questionnaire or just the questions are in plain text format (Configurtion: YAML, JSON or INI, just translations: PO files (prefer standards)). Do you want to keep the whole questionnaire configuration or just the questions in the text file? I'd love to work on that ;)
