Code snippets - upload of text and photos to MySQL database using PHP

I am designing a website, but I do not know how to upload the data to the MySQL database. I want to be able to enter information about an event: 1) a date and time. 2) a location. 3) A text block - this would enable the user to write some text, in different fonts, styles,alignment, etc., such as as a "rich text" editor might provide and save this formatted text to the database. (A text block like CKeditor could create.) So for one event, we want to store 1,2 and 3 in a table in the database. There would actually be two tables, because "3", the text block, might have multiple instances for the same event, so the first table would have a pointer to the 2nd table, which would store the multiple text blocks of one event. What I am looking for are code routines to save formatted text from an editor, to the MySQL database, and to be able to later retrieve this formatted text from the MySQL database and display it on a new page, along with the date + time, and location. The user should be presented with the written street address, as a clickable URL (for example "123 Main Street, City, State, Zip-Code") and when the user clicks on the address , it would bring up a web page of a Google map with that address spotlighted. The key for the database entry might be based on the date, although it could sometimes occur that there are two entries for the same date, so the key might be better as a date+city string.
