I am searching for a dedicated programmer, who will create a fully operational ecommerce website for us.
We are a music store in Japan (selling CDs, DVDs, Video Games, Books), and would like to have an online presence via our own website.
We have recently set up a website with ProStores, using their templates, but in all honesty, we're not happy with it (their templates are very basic/amateurish, the site loads far too slow, and, they only have a 100,000 product limit: our store has well above that number (we have nearly 20,000 video games in stock, 250,000+ CDs, and many more books, DVDs, etc).
We need a website that will run smooth, with this large product database.
The successful bidder will be responsible for the full development of the site, implementation of shopping cart, set up appropriate hosting, etc. Basically, the project will be consider complete, only when we, or anyone online, can visit this new website, browse our catalog, and successfully place orders. For starters, we will want to offer Paypal, and GoogleCheckout payments on the website. Implementing these with the shopping cart, will naturally be a part of the job as well.
The catalog update system, also needs to be simple, and reliable. If we wish to upload a csv file, with many items at once (40,000...50,000 or more) it should be easy. Product images will either be a file name in the csv file (matching file name to a file in a folder on our host) or, also a url, to an existing online image, which will then automatically be downloaded onto our server).
We're not too interested in flash, as... from our understanding, flash sites are more difficult to find for search engines and... in general (again from what we have learned thus far...) are not very SEO-friendly.
Following website completion, naturally, we would like SEO as well, to ensure the site will begin to rank high with search engines. We have a distinct method/technique that we will share with the winning bidder, that will enable us to reach #1 or very close to it, ranking with Google, once the site is under construction.
One thing we are absolute about, is the time-line. If you submit a project delivery time of let's say, 14 days, be certain, that you will be able to deliver the full project, bug-free, and fully operational, by that time. We are easy to work with, but, you wouldn't want us to deliver less than our promised end of the deal (the bid amount) so naturally, we too, do not want to receive less than promised (in terms of delivery time, or website functionality).
Don't let the formalities scare you. If you're an experienced coder (or team) and know how to deliver quality ecommerce websites, this will be a breeze for you.
Several leading sites in our niche that you can take a look at, include:

We don't necessarily want a site that look/feel like the above. We are forward-thinking, and like the idea of something fresh/new/unique, but the above will give you an insight into our market.
We look forward to your bids.
Thank you,
