this is a project for the online shopping ,and it is named as online shopping cart............. The Online Shopping Module consists of HTML and JSP pages that enable an end user to login and logout as a registered user and to shop and search for a book from the online database. The [login to view URL] page in the architecture of the online shopping module enables the end user to select criteria for searching books, such as book title and book author. It also allows the end user to enter a value in a text box to search for selected criteria. The [login to view URL] page is called on clicking the search button of the [login to view URL] page. The [login to view URL] page allows the end user to select books from the search result and add them to the cart. A cart is a shopping basket that stores the books selected by an end user. It also allow the end user to search for more books. The [login to view URL] page is called on clicking the add to cart button on the [login to view URL] page. The [login to view URL] page creates the session variables and calls the [login to view URL] page. The session variables are the variables that store information about an end user for a particular session, such as user name and password. The [login to view URL] page display the data stored in the cart of an end user and allows end user to search for more books. The [login to view URL] page is called on clicking the Search button of the [login to view URL] page. The [login to view URL] page allows the end user to select books from the search results and add books to the cart. It also allows the end user to search for more books. The [login to view URL] page is called on clicking the add to cart button of the [login to view URL] page. The [login to view URL] page creates the session variables and calls the [login to view URL] page. The session variables in the [login to view URL] store the updated information of books selected by end user. The [login to view URL] page is called on clicking the Place Order button of [login to view URL] page. The [login to view URL] page enables the end user to enter the number of copies of each book present in the end user’s cart and displays the total bill for the end user. The [login to view URL] page is called on clicking the place order button of the Cart_ [login to view URL] page. The [login to view URL] page enables the end user to enter his credit card number and its expiry date. The [login to view URL] page is called on clicking the submit button of [login to view URL] page. The [login to view URL] page displays the order number, date of order and the total bill for the book selected by the end user. DATABASE: We use Oracle9i to create the database tables .The Shopping Cart Application uses seven tables to store information about books and orders. The tables used in the Shopping Cart application are: ● Book Details: Store information about the books, such as book title, author and publisher of the book. ● Category Details: Store information about the book categories, such as category ID and name of the category. ● Order Details: Store information about the order placed by an end user, such as order ID and book ID. It contains separate record for each book purchased. ● Temp_Detail: Store information about the books that have been searched by the end user. ● User_Auth: Store the username and password for various end users. ● User_Profile: Store information about all registered users, such as name, address and phone number. ● Order_Table: Stores information about the orders placed, such as ordered and userID. It contains separate record for each order placed by an end user. ● JAVA: For designing the front end of the project JSP is used. All the designing of the forms is done in JSP. ● ORACLE: we have used ORACLE 9i as the backend platform for storing the database of the project. Installation Guidance of Shopping Cart Application The shopping cart application uses JSP as the server side scripting language, JavaScript for client side data validations, HTML for data display and Oracle as the database to store The various information, such as book information or customer information. The requirements for running the shopping cart application are: ● Install Apache Tomcat 4.0.4 on the server. ● creat the shoppingcart folder in C:Program FilesApache Tomcat 4.0webappsexamplesjsp folder. Save all the sourse code files in the shoppingcart folder. ● use Oracle SQL-Plus common line utility to create the database tables. ● create a data source name (DSN) with the name data, to access the data stored in the tables. A DSN is a source name for the database and provides connectivity between a java program and database. ● After completing these requirements, select Start->Programs->Apache Tomcat 4.0->Start Tomcat to start Apache Tomcat 4.0. ● Then run the Shopping Cart application from the web browser. Specify the path of the [login to view URL] file in the address bar of the web browser to start the Shopping Cart Application. The path of [login to view URL] file is [login to view URL] where [login to view URL] is the machine number of the computer where Apache Tomcat server is running and source file are copied.
