Senior Android Developer

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our Engineering team in Barcelona, where it has recently been assigned the first of a series of interesting and challenging high-profile global Mobile projects where massive traffic is expected. The successful candidate will lead the project and will be reporting directly to the Engineering Director in Barcelona. Responsibilities: - Lead high-profile global projects both for Zinio and external first-level customers. Take ownership for timely delivery of performing products meeting the requirements. - Work with the Product Management team in Barcelona to fulfil the product requirements as well as help them to plan projects that suit the technical needs and limitations . - Contribute with new ideas and constant challenges and improvements to make great customer-oriented products that deliver an enjoyable [login to view URL]: - 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience in architecting and developing mobile applications, being at least the 2 last in Android. - Deep experience in applications interacting with RESTful APIs and micro-services. - Strong understanding of caching as it relates to mobile devices and application performance - Strong knowledge of unit testing, behavioural testing and continuous integration - Solid understanding of Java, C/C++ is a plus - Experience building multi threaded applications on android platform - Must have experience developing for multiple screen sizes - Custom UI development for native Android components - Good understanding about MVC, MVP for Android - Experience with concurrency including Thread, Handler, AsyncTask and scheduling techniques. - English at a conversational level Personal Skills: - Honest, direct, responsible and transparent. - Self-taught and highly perfectionist, code as a craft spirit. - Enthusiastic, engaged, pro-active, and creative team player. - Communication abilities to work with co-workers located in different timezones.
